Linguistics Dictionary Terms (ELITE)

This application discusses applied linguistics in the research and development model of Richey and Klein; Design, Development, and Evaluation. This research aims to develop a linguistics terminology application based on Android as well as evaluate the effectiveness of the application. Then, the data were analyzed using the qualitative and quantitative method. The researcher used corpus collection and questionnaire as the main instruments to find out the valid data. This research was conducted in order to find an innovative idea for studying linguistics terminology. The findings showed that ELITE application developed in five principles of Terminography; Monolingual-English, Structure Consecutively- A hundred vocabulary from A to Z consecutively, Standard Description-Corpus data collections based on the Linguistics dictionary book of Cambridge university press 2013, One Design-one term only designed one definition, and Permanent- Definition of its term is permanent. While the effectiveness of ELITE application divides into three main effectiveness; Learnability obtained 82% which is effective to learn linguistics terminology. The efficiency obtained 73% which is effective enough to use anytime in learning linguistics terminology. The satisfaction obtained 76% which is comfortably used in learning linguistics terminology. Hence, the researcher concludes that ELITE application is good to publish in Google play store in learning linguistics terminology for students or people who studying linguistics.
